I hired Brandon to do my resentencing after a 2255. The best word I can use is phenomenal, which I don't think is used much for criminal defense, but he is. First and foremost, he is knowledgeable about the law, and if he doesn't know it, he will research it thoroughly. Next, he is brutally honest and truthful about expectations.

For me, I was incarcerated when I hired Brandon, and my case had a number of moving pieces. I'm an email writer, and Brandon always responded to me promptly and kept me informed about everything that was going on in my case. He also, from our first phone call, clearly defined what was important for us to focus on and laid out a path so that we would be able to attain our goals. I sometimes drifted off from that path, but he definitely did not.

Everything that Brandon handed in to the court was impeccable. And when we were in front of the judge, he truly was in his element. He was well spoken. His ability to defend his position and lay out an argument in front of the judge was thoughtful and thorough. In my case, the judge sided with him on everything. I was originally sentenced to 56 months. At my resentencing, with Brandon representing me, I received 35 months and got time served.

Brandon was the right choice for me because he is a great lawyer who cares about his work product. But in addition to being a great lawyer, Brandon understands incarceration in an intimate way that cannot be explained if you have not been incarcerated. That factor is what surpasses great and makes him a phenomenal lawyer. My only regret with Brandon was not hiring him from the start of my case.
