My name is M Tran, and I reached out to Brandon Sample's law firm on behalf of my brother to get representation for compassionate release. After consultation with a few law firms, we actually chose Brandon Sample's law firm. My brother was denied home confinement after his case manager even approved it, and the whole case went all the way to the last step, and then at the last step, the BOP denied him home confinement, even though they knew he had a stroke in November 2019. This left him with severe left-side weakness, and of course he did not receive any appropriate care in the federal prison.

So Attorney Sample took on our case, and he put his heart and his soul into it. He put together the best motion to present to the judge, and he took time and effort to find the right expert witness, a neurologist, to strengthen my brother's case. And this was quite difficult during the COVID pandemic, since, you know, we couldn't meet anyone at all. Throughout the time of preparation, I had weekly contact with the attorney to get updates and progress on the case.

Through a few months of hard work, my brother's case was granted compassionate release from the judge. And I'm happy to say that my brother has been home exactly a week. Now we can get him the appropriate care he needs so that he can recover and start a new life.

My family and I are forever grateful to the attorney and his staff. Without the expert knowledge and the dedication and the compassion that Attorney Sample had for my brother — and I believe he does for all his clients — my brother still would be incarcerated at this time and probably will have permanent disability for the rest of his life.

I don't know what to say to you, Attorney Sample, other than thank you, thank you, and thank you. I hope you will be able to help many more deserving inmates so that they can have a second chance in life. With much gratitude, my family and I wish you success. We know that you can make a difference in many more lives that you touch. So thank you again for your work and getting freedom for my brother. Again, thank you.
