My name is Kinard Henson. I've had quite a few attorneys that were supposed to be on my team, or my side, or trying to help, but in turn they hurt me worse than helping me. So after I did nine years, I found out that the BOP was only giving me two years credit for the nine years that I've done.
Well, by the grace of God, I found Brandon Sample. And I contacted him, and we spoke, and I was hesitant because of the attorneys in my past that messed over myself and my family. Well, he gave me a satisfaction, or a calm, about myself, about the whole situation, about what was done and what can be done. And he had things sent that I never even thought that I was supposed to get, or my old attorney was supposed to get, never did anything.
In the end, he did exactly what he said he was going to do, and that was get the BOP to give me all the time that I've deserved, from day one of my arrest until right now. The day they gave that to me, that was one of the — that was almost like a release, as if I was going to get released that day.
And I talked to Brandon, and each and every time I talked to him, he took the time to listen to me. He took the time to calm my nerves. And he was a lawyer and a friend at the same time, and we've never even met face to face. But I feel like I have a friend for life. I would recommend Brandon Sample to anyone who's trying to get some type of relief from this [unclear] prison situation, or federal time, or even a lawyer just trying to fight for their case, fight for their life.
I'll give a testimony to anyone for my confirmation of the type of person that he is, the type of person that his staff is. And that's all I can say. I just thank God every night for it, and I'm happy to give a testimony for it.
