Transcript

My name is Joseph Wolcott. I've been in prison since 2008. When the First Step Act passed, where we was allowed to petition our motion back into the court, my son hired Brandon Sample to petition the court for a resentencing. Brandon done a tremendous, tremendous job.

I'd been transferred to Terre Haute, Indiana, from Lexington, Kentucky. I get to Terre Haute and I tell them, I say, "I've got an awful good case. I think that I could be getting out." Their response was, "You're not getting out of prison. You're not that sick. You're not bedfast. Don't get your hopes up," and everything. Sort of made me down. So I went on, started back to work and everything.

And then here on Valentine's, we get the call from the judge that give me immediate release. And here I am, and I have everything in the world. I really, really figured I'd die in prison with my sentence and the medical conditions that I'm in. But with Brandon's help, and his paralegals, and with Zach helping, they won the case for me. I got immediate release.

I'm back with my family, doing well, working a little bit, a lot of grandkids. I have a lot to be thankful for, and would recommend Brandon Sample's law firm to anybody, which I already have to a lot of people. He done a tremendous job for me.
